Children in Foundation Stage 2 have a phased induction when they start school for up to five weeks with varying start and finish times. For everyone else, the school day starts at 9 am and finishes at 3.15 pm.

9.00 - 12.15 and 1.15 - 3.15
FS1 have an earlier lunch
Key Stage 2 :
9.00 - 12.15 and 1.10 - 3.15
Assembly is at 10.00 am daily
Wednesday class assemblies, to which parents are invited, take place at 2.45 pm and the dates are published in newsletters. Mid-morning break is from 10.45 am - 11.00 am.
Key Stage 1 children also have an afternoon break.
Total weekly teaching time, excluding the daily Act of Worship, breaks and registration, is 22.5 hours for the younger children and 23.5 hours for Years 3-6.
For older children we do encourage independence in meeting their parents after school in the playground but teach them to return to class if they cannot find the person who is collecting them. In the event of a parent failing to collect at the appointed time we will telephone the next named contact on the list. Whilst it has never happened, in the very unlikely situation that a child goes missing at school the parents will be contacted after the police have been informed.
Your child’s safety is our first concern. Please do not send your child to school before 8.45 am as we cannot guarantee supervision before then. If someone different from usual is collecting your child at the end of the day, please let us know beforehand; the younger children will not be released to anyone except their parents unless you tell us otherwise.
